It’s not that the Commander wasn’t interested, on the contrary. If her crew wanted to update the systems, make upgrades, Shepard welcomes it. Anything to help. In any battle. Especially if it means that the crew survives. It’s just that she’ll leave Garrus to it. She understands very little of calibrating. If it didn’t have to deal with the battlefield, then she’ll have to learn. A soldier, in and out.

“I’m just checking in on the crew,” she admitted, herself. Leaving out the fact that maybe she needed a mighty fine distraction by making her rounds on the Normandy.

He raised a brow plate curiously. “I’m guessing I’m your…third stop?” If nothing, he just wanted to know to satisfy his curiosity, not that it would affect what he would say towards her. The only reason he asked in the first place was to gauge his importance to her. He considered her a friend; someone he trusted and she in turn trusted him. At the same time, he wondered how close they actually were. Where he was on her rounds would give him the answer to the question that he wasn’t going to ask her.
